140- Eb2 or eb 3 will take from 4 weeks to 4 months
485 - If u are from India or China and based on current situation for Eb2 it could take upto 4 years and 6-7 years for EB3. If you are from Rest of the world it would be 1-2 years.
However, if the SKIL bill passes, things could change and you could get the whole GC within 2 years or so.........Keep hopeful...that is what I am doing after 8 years on H1........with a MBA from a US University!!

spoke to the lawyer and they said they have experience last month of filing a I485 similar to mine at Nebraska and had no issues.
So I guess I will have to trust them and see. She also mentioned 2 yrs is the time for follow to join not 180 days.

My question is, can I face any difficulty while boarding a flight in India since I do not have any valid visa stamp for US in my passport? If I remember well the immigration counter in India also verifies a person's visa before letting him/her proceed on the journey.

You won't have any issue with Indian Emigration officials in India. They are well aware of advanced parole as a means of entry to US.

i always start a drawing or anything, with primitives. Usually circles and curves because they are organik..if i want something more rigid i uses cubes...then i try to visualize that primitives potential and how i can link it to something else alter in the composition...after i do that 1 of 2 things happen, I either do it or i get scared ima ruin it and just go work on something else.

Regarding your I-140 approval notice, if you can get your case # from your lawyer, I guess you can request for a copy of I-140 approval notice from USCIS. Try to get your case #/receipt number. In my case, I got the I-140 approval letter from USCIS. What I know is that USCIS sent a copy to your address as well as to your lawyer. Did you change your address after applying for I-140? The approval notice cannot be forwarded to a new address.

GC is for future job, this pay is for skill set that will be used for FUTURE JOB,
it has nothing to do with your current job even if it is same job title.
Donot worry for stuff you donot have control over. It was done in past, you are fine, you cant do anything about it anyways now, or even if you had known about this in past.
LCA Salary is determined by Labor office, those great folks always come up with salary ...that no one pays.
Talk to your employer and ask about seeking higher salary. Most folks get huge jump ( in normal market) when they get their EAD since employer knows now they will move somewhere else.
Donot panic about everyting.

I was trying to find out if it is possible to switch from H1-EAD-H1 all the while staying in the country.
If this switch is possible then will the EAD-H1 switch process be treated as 1 .transfer/ 2.new H1 application(subject to annual quota,lottery)/ 3.something else(recapture)? Though in all the three cases this new H1 will be valid for only whatever time that is left on H1 and not 6 years.
All these days I thought it would be treated as transfer (though there is a gap between the H1).

There is something called as recapturing of lost Days on H1. So for example you were out of USA for some time when you were on H1 you can recapture that period. Try googling "Recapturing of H1".
This way you will not be part of the New quota. Hope this helps

I filed my AP renewal online, I used my discover to pay my dues.
I did not submit any paperwork, I got an RFE just for photographs.
Most important thing for AP-renewal according to my experience is photographs.

Unfortunately NO. you cannot declare anything while leaving India.
My question is; Why do you really want to bring your jwellery here? Why not keep in some safety locker (bank) in India. Is it attractive to walk around with huge gold chains/bangles in the US? Also we have been hearing about burglaries in Indian households becuause of easy access to gold.
Buy gold and keep it in locker in India. Come here with some "duplicate gold" and live free.:D:D:D

Last time when i went to India took 10coins and had to feed the customs Rs.10K. Not sure if it was still a good math compared to pay cash and buy gold in India instead of travelling with coins.

The receipt is not for an "initial or renewal" (OPT) EAD. It is for the "replacement for a lost (OPT) EAD".
I do have the approval notice in hand. It the actual OPT EAD that is lost.
Note: A receipt for an application for an initial or renewal USCIS
Employment Authorization Document (EAD) filed on a Form I-765,
Application for Employment Authorization, is not acceptable for Form
I-9 verification purposes.
Also for immigration purposes you cannot start working until you have the approval in-hand.
