I logged in & my current Family Talk 700 plan does not have the +, when I click change plan, no 700 minute plan shows as an option because I already have the 700 minute plan, & when I click on A-List it says I have no A-List. The FAQ for the A-List still says 1400 is the minimum for the Family plan. I'll keep an eye out, though, because it is certainly possible that if they made this change today, they haven't yet updated the site.

I have to admit I always thought the Fahrvergn�gen thing was a bit silly, but it did position the VWs as "different", something the new Jetta and Passat are emphatically not. They are intentionally more the same.
Never understood that ad campaign - till my ex and I bought our VW's. Me the New Beetle and him the Cabrio just months apart. That was a very happy salesman that day! LOL
In the end it was just how fun the Cabrio was fun to drive that made me jump to the New Beetle. Reliability was the reason I dumped my New Beetle... made in Mexico. While the ex's Cabrio was made in Germany with no major problems. Go figure....

I still need to call LAN lines for work and A-list for FamilyTalk is now available on the Nation 700 plan. I switched today by calling ATT but online they are not letting it go through yet. They said this will work online soon, but calling 611 they are setting it up today for me. Went from $89.99 to $69.99, saving $20 per month and keeping my A-list!

I love how in our industry, when we raise a price, we have to justify it to the customer start to finish, across every presence imaginable, media, events, etc... cost of materials, availability during wartime, tighter environmental standards, labor cost increase, having not made an adjustment to the price in nearly a decade despite inflation and other factors... before we'll be able to make a 5% increase to the price and not lose all our customers.
It must be nice to be a telecom company and just toss out huge arbitrary pricing changes without any justification.

i'm not to keen on this whole cloud computing concept that is floating around at the moment. Anyone else have doubts?

Most people don't call it a 'cloud,' but an amazing number of people pretty much just use Facebook as their only photo-storage facility. Forget the fact that many of them become down-rezzed when doing so...and that's before you get into conversations about how safe the data is and how you can access it. Those kind of thoughts don't even enter most people's minds.
I've heard from so many people who have lost entire computer drives and kind of laugh it off 'cause their photos are on Facebook and their music is on their iPod.
You and I may see the downsides to cloud computing compared to what we do now, but for these people a better cloud-computing-workflow from a company like Apple would actually be a huge step UP.

I am all against this nostalgia gaming. U have so many great games available on the ipad or iphone that utilise their potencial, why would u wanr to play games that have 12 pixels running around? I think it has more to do with people remembering the "good old times" when they havent had all that depression, fear and insecurity going on.

Or they did a lot of stuff with it already, just not showing it yet. Since the current release of FCP does not use QTX, they don't need to release the updated API before the next gen FCP. I really doubt Apple just shelved the whole QTX after doing a rewrite for SL, they must have been iterating it since then.

While Premiere doesn't have any first part codecs along the same lines as ProRes it is more flexible and open to third party codecs than FCP is. Sounds awesome, but I'll still stick with Camino until Safari speeds up a bit and is more stable. Those were my only two issues.

All of this 'what about the Mac' stuff is a little harsh. If Steve's got an Octo-Core Mac Pro coming in a few weeks, then he's not going to say so now.
While I see your point on that, Dell is already offering computer configs that have dual quad core chips. Granted, they say they're not shipping for a while, but people can go there and know they've got an octo core coming, where with Apple we're still having to guess- will it happen, what kind of specs can we expect, and most importantly, how much?

I went to a Red Cross blood donation event that we had in my last workplace, but after they asked all of my medical history they weren't sure if it would be a good idea to take my blood. So..Seriously why do you care then. Not one single publisher cares at all about the 30% that is a pretty standard affiliate cut in for news publishers and exactly what WSJ pays on it's lowest tier, it goes up from there for high volume affiliates.

I spend about a third of my daily iPad time reading the FT every morning. If the app gets pulled or no longer works (because Apple insists on getting their cut of my annual subscription), I will make the very easy decision to get an Android tablet next.
Same goes for my Economist and WSJ apps. Combined, I probably spend 75% of my time on my iPad reading these publications. Take them away, and I'm gone.
My loyalty is to the publisher and the quality of their material. It is NOT to Apple. And one less iPad owner also means one less App store and/or iTunes customer.
Apple should tread very lightly here.
Maybe you should tell publishers you are ok with them not requiring your personal information..

Good news everyone!!! You guys remember the connecticut home invasion where Dr. William Petit, his two daughters and wife were brutally attacked in their home, and the daughters and wife were tortured, raped and murdered? Well, the trial for the second suspect is going on today, and he's probably getting the death penalty!! The first suspect, steven hayes, was already sentenced to death a few months back. CHEERS!!! :D:D:D I'm so glad connecticut is one of the sane states that has a death penalty. Unfortunately my state was the first to ban it in 2007. I would say go for a good old fashioned lynching.
